Terms & Conditions

Keel Camping is a family friendly campsite, for touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans and
tents. Our guest’s enjoyment and safety, is paramount, please read the site terms and conditions
before making your booking.

Booking:

Booking is made in advance online at
www.keelcamping.ie.

Your full contact details and payment are required by credit or debit card on booking.
All details of your party are requested at the time of booking.
Your vehicle registration is required at booking, in order to activate the barrier at front gate to open at the campsite
on your arrival.
By booking you give permission for your contact details to be retained by our computer system.

Group Bookings:

All bookings can be made online. We cannot guarantee that groups holidaying together will be located beside one another in the park, however we will aim to facilitate this, if you aim to arrive together.

Age Restriction:

You must be over 18yrs old to make a booking with us. Minors must be accompanied by an adult in each unit, and must not be left unaccompanied overnight.

Type of Booking:

We are a holiday campsite, and cannot facilitate units being use for residential or employment purposes.

Cancellations or Amendments:

We strongly advise purchasing travel/cancellation insurance.

Booking payments are only refunded if the booking is cancelled at least 3 days for tent/campervan/caravan pitches and 30 days for rentals, before the arrival date.

There is no refund on booking payments if the booking is made 3 days or less before the arrival date.

No refund on booking fees, deposits & payments in the event that some or all members of your group fail to arrive or you leave the pitch/park.

In order to cancel your holiday, please email info@keelcamping.ie.

No Shows:

Failure to arrive without satisfactory explanation or written cancellation being received will receive no transfer or refund. If notification is given and the pitch is not occupied by 11am on the day following the day of expected arrival, we reserve the right to re-let the pitch with payment forfeited.

Extended Stays

Extensions can be arranged, subject to availability and possible relocation, although there is no guarantee that pitches can be extended beyond date booked. If you wish to extend your stay, please check with reception as soon as possible.

Payment and Prices

All prices are quoted in Euro. While we reserve the right to increase prices to an agreed max rate with Failte Ireland, once your booking is confirmed, the price of your booking as stated in the confirmation email will not change. All prices are inclusive of VAT. We accept payment by credit or debit card at the time of booking.

Waiting Lists

For fully booked dates, customers can be added to a waiting list by phoning 087 2555689, or by email bookings@keelcamping.ie with preferred dates and contact details. Any vacancies will be notified by telephone, with pitches allocated to the first paying customer.

Arrival / Late Arrival

Check in from 2pm – 5pm in low season, and 8pm in high season (a later arrival time up to 11pm, can be facilitated by request only), please notify us by calling 087 2555689.
Arrivals after 11 pm will not be accepted.

On arrival, please check in at reception, where you will be asked to confirm your details, and be given signage to display on your unit stating your date of arrival and departure.
Access to the campsite will only be permitted with full payment, Once you have booked on the booking system, your vehicle registration will be recorded, and this will activate the barrier to open at your arrival.

Pitch Allocation

Hardstand pitches are bookable by motorhomes / campervans / caravans, with or without electricity, on our booking system.

Grass pitches are bookable motorhomes / campervans / caravans, and tents, with or without electricity, on our booking system.

Cars cannot park on hardstands, We do not allocate pitch numbers, therefore in low season guests can select from available hard stands or grass pitches upon arrival, depending on what type of pitch they have booked, During high season, our staff will show you to an available pitch / area on the site, and we ask that cars are parked close to units, to allow for other units to fit in.

Please do not use electrical point if you have not booked one / none available on booking.

Our park allows for touring pitches and tents to be located beside one another.

Where possible, we will endeavour to pitch groups together if availability allows.

Awnings

Most pitches can accommodate awnings, but this must be booked and paid for at the time of booking. An awning is
attached to caravan/ campervan or motorhome.

Note: A tent set up beside your unit is a separate tent booking, not an awning.

Gazebos / Shelters

Gazebos or Shelters are not permitted onsite – due to the exposed nature of the campsite, strong winds can be a factor in Keel, and gazebos and shelters can be blown away causing damage to people and property.

Reception and Information

Reception is open from 9am-9pm in high season, and 9am-5pm in low season.
Outside of these hours, please call 087 2555689 for emergency assistance.

Showers

Tokens are €1 for 5 minutes – available to purchase at reception.

Pets

Dogs are allowed onsite and can stay free of charge.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times in the campsite.
Dogs (other than guide dogs) are not permitted in the facilities blocks.
Please ensure that you clean up after your dog.
Please respect the Mayo Co Co signs re pets at Keel Beach.

Waste Management

It is a mandatory policy that all guests separate their waste using glass, recycling and general waste bins. Any
person found contravening this policy will be requested to vacate the park immediately and no refund given.

Fire / BBQ’s

Open camp fires are not permitted in the campsite – Due to the exposed nature of Keel Camping, and strong winds a possibility, campfires are not suitable, as sparks can fly and cause damage to people and property.
Free standing BBQ’s that are raised off the ground are permitted.

Weather

Due to the exposed nature of Keel Camping, and strong winds a possibility, all guests are advised to take responsibility to check the weather before and during their holiday to ensure the weather is suitable for their unit, and that their unit is well secured.
Keel Camping will display the weather on an information board in the window of the Minaun reception building.

Wristbands

In high season, guests will be asked to wear wristbands, so we can ensure our services are used by guests only.

Children on site

Children under 7 years of age should be accompanied by an adult to the sanitary facilities and social room at all times.

Electric Car Charging

There is no electric car charger onsite – cars / vehicles cannot be plugged into campsite electricity, as there is no capacity for this.

Drones

Radio-Controlled Devices & Drones: The use of radio-controlled devices and drones within the campsite is discouraged. Non-compliance will result in confiscation of the device and controller unit.

Security

In the interest of security/child protection, entry to the campsite is strictly for guests authorized to enter the park.
No guest shall give access or entry codes to any third party for the purposes of entering the park. Anyone who violates the security policy will be required to leave the campsite immediately with no refund given.

Liability

Anyone founds defacing or causing damage to any building, equipment or property of the site faces immediate eviction and or prosecution. The person named on the booking will be responsible for and charged for any damage / breakages / loss caused by themselves or their visitors to the pitch or to any site facilities or to other customers’ property.

Your vehicle and their contents and accessories are left at your own risk.
Keel Camping or its staff shall not be liable for the loss, theft or damage of any property whilst they remain on the site, unless caused or contributed to by any negligence or default on the part of Keel Camping or its staff.
Customers must ensure that their property is secure and fully insured for any unforeseen eventuality.

Data Protection

All the information taken at the time of booking is collected for the purposes of processing your booking at Keel Camping. As part of our ongoing monitoring and promotion we may email you of late availability, future events, or developments on the site. If you do not wish to receive any further communications, please email us or speak to us
at reception.

We may disclose your data to CampStead Ltd who may contact you inviting you to complete a questionnaire regarding your stay at our park (this is part of our booking system).
By booking with us, you agree to abide by the above terms and conditions.

Government Lockdown

Where the government and NPHET decide to enforce lockdowns due to COVID 19 or other reasons, we regret that we must postpone any bookings during this time. We will be in contact with customers should this arise.

Departure

All pitches must be vacated by 12noon on the day of departure – car tags are dropped back to reception to check
out.

Please return any unused tokens, and you will receive refund for same.

If you wish to extend your stay, please call to the office by 10 am – subject to availability.

Late checkouts from 12 am – 2 pm carry a fee of €10. Thereafter full night rate applies.

General Rules and Regulations

  1. You must display your booking tag clearly on your vehicle, caravan / tent.
  2. If you are availing of electric, please ensure it is working before you settle in, and notify us if there is a problem – please attach your electricity tag to the electric cable.
  3. No unauthorised or improper use of Wi-Fi – WiFi is complimentary – password on welcome letter / at reception.
  4. Parking for all guests is available on site. All pitches (except hiker / cyclist) include 1 vehicle. Additional vehicles will be charged at €6 per night.
  5. No commercial vehicles are permitted onsite.
  6. Check out time is 12noon on departure date – there is no refund for earlier departure on evening before departure date.
  7. Quiet hours are from 11pm nightly.
  8. No entry to vehicles on the campsite after 1am.
  9. Vehicles are not permitted to drive around campsite after 11pm.
  10. A strict 10KPH speed limit is enforced on all areas of the campsite.
  11. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
  12. If a guest causes any disturbance, he or she may be evicted from the premises with no refund given.
  13. Keel Camping reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to refuse entry onto or to remove from its premises or the vicinity any person who:
    • Has been convicted of a criminal offence, which, in its opinion, is likely to affect the safety or enjoyment of other visitors.
    • Has behaved in a manner or is likely to affect the safety or enjoyment of other visitors.
    • Has used threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour or in any way provokes or behaves in a manner which may provide a breach of the peace.
    • Is thought to be under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
